Tasting: Santa Julia Malbec

Name: Santa Julia Malbec
Variety: Malbec
Region: N/A
Country: Argentina
Year: 2012
Price: $8.95

Vintage Wine Cellar (Mike): "The nose is full of mellow raspberry and cherry, while the palate is fleshy and round, with blackberry and a touch of raisin. Plump, not edgy, and ready to drink, with a coffee and mocha notes on the finish."

My Review: This red Malbec was not as good as other Malbecs I have had in the past. It was quite mediocre. It had a powerful fruity smell of cherry and raspberry. The wine tasted bland at first but had a powerful and hot finish. It was very concentrated and a little dry like many red wines are. It was a little sappy and lingered on the palate after swallowing the wine.
